Inspired by the musical wealth of Hesperia – the ancient name for the Iberian and Italian peninsulas – viola de gamba player, Jordi Savall, soprano Montserrat Figueras and a group of virtuoso performers founded Hespèrion XX in 1974 to explore the vast repertoire of Western music – in particular Spanish music – written before the 19th century. > more
