Discovering life outside Moscow
Just as people say Sydney and Melbourne aren't a true reflection of Australia, or New York isn't really the United States, many Russians will tell you that Moscow isn't what the rest of the country is like. But when you've been posted to a country to report on what makes the place tick an election, where ever it is, doesn't feel little. And last weekend in New Zealand there was a very big result. Helen Clark's rule came to an end after nine years. Now the polls might have predicted the outcome, but for our correspondent there were still plenty of surprises on election night. |
