Employment at the ABC

We want more Indigenous people to apply for jobs at the ABC.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has implemented the next phase of its Indigenous Employment Plan. Paul Brant, Indigenous Employment Coordinator for the ABC says "This plan is targeted towards action not words, we are looking at 2 % Indigenous Employment in the ABC as merely our starting point so we need to ensure we are pro-active". At present, 50 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff are employed by the ABC.

ABC jobs are advertised in newspapers and online. Under the Equal Opportunity and ABC Employment Agreement - everyone is entitled to positions if you are qualified.

Only jobs that have been specifically produced for Indigenous Employment are targeted to people with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island backgrounds.
