Robotics is now so easy a monkey can do it. Scientists in the United States have shown how monkeys can use motor activity in their brains to control a human-like prosthetic arm, complete with working joints. The researchers used food to complete the experiment. They trained the monkeys to use the arm to feed themselves. The breakthrough, published in the journal Nature, is expected eventually to help paralysed people and amputees.
