About ABC News Weblogs

Welcome to the ABC's News Weblogs, a feature designed to give you an alternative view of the news in Arts, Entertainment and Sport. Each blog will be updated regularly with comments and links on the latest developments and issues in these areas. You will find that the style of these blogs is more personal and informal than our traditional news coverage.

Internet blogging has provided commentators and journalists with the opportunity to develop a different relationship with their readers. Blogs can be more informal than traditional news coverage and the entries you'll find in our blogs will be a little more personal and occasionally less structured than you're used to reading as part of our traditional coverage. Sometimes the entries may reflect the lighter side of current events.

We welcome comments on our blog posts, but because of the editorial checks and balances we employ, all comments must pass through a moderation system. This will inevitably result in a delay between the posting of the comment and its publication. Not all posts will offer the option for the audience to comment. Some, because of the nature of the issues being canvassed, are simply not suitable for comment. We can provide no guarantee that all audience contributions will be used as part of the blog. The ABC retains the right to edit your comments. Comments should comply with the ABC's Conditions of Use.

Our bloggers will not post any material that is obscene, defamatory, profane, threatening, or abusive to others. We will link to sites that are appropriate and relevant to the blog entry we've posted. The links we provide to external sites are appropriate at the time of publication. However we cannot take responsibility for changes to these sites which occur after the link has been made.
