Posted February 2, 2005 13:23:00

A Melbourne accountant charged with defrauding the State Revenue Office of $10 million has appeared in the Victorian County Court.

Keith John Fernandez, 35, of Flemington pleaded guilty to 30 charges of gaining a financial advantage for himself or the firm TQM Legal and Accounting.

Fernandez misrepresented amounts of stamp duty owed to the State Revenue Office during a period of nearly three years from February 1998 to October 2000.

He faces more than 250 charges of deception for a total amount of just over $10 million.

Bail for Fernandez was extended to July 25 when he will reappear in court.
