Aloe vera producer signs $3m China deal

Posted December 6, 2005 12:46:00

A Bundaberg aloe vera producer has signed a $3 million contract to supply a major Chinese health food chain.

The aloe vera is grown on a 300 acre farm outside Bundaberg and processed into juice at a plant in town.

Aloe Wellness Australia's director, Graham Leishman, says it has been in negotiations for the past 12 months to finalise the deal.

"Over the next three years, it has a minimum value of $3 million, so that's to say that they've agreed that that's the sort of money they will pay as a minimum, depending on their sales, but they expect that to be the bottom," he said.

"We expect our first order to be in China by April-May next year."
