A shearer from southern Queensland has been killed and two other men have been seriously injured in a car accident near Louth in western New South Wales.

Police say the three contract shearers were driving home from a Louth hotel early on Saturday morning when it appears their vehicle rolled and hit a tree on the Toorale Road.

Simon Davidson, 30, of Toowoomba, was killed, while a man in his mid 20s from Queensland and a 30-year-old from Finley are being treated for serious injuries in a Sydney hospital.

Police are still investigating who was driving and whether alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the crash.
