Mt Gambier rocker headlines Cabaret fest

Posted April 4, 2007 10:21:00

A rock musician from country South Australia will be one of the headline acts of this year's Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

Dave Graney was born in Mount Gambier and is known for his hits with the band Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes.

At the Cabaret Festival he will be playing an acoustic set in a small room.

The festival director, Julia Holt, is launching the event today, and says there will be something for everyone.

"There's a whole program of free events," she said.

"Some of the bigger ticketed items include the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra with the leading swing conductor, John Wilson."

"He'll be joined by crooner Gary Williams to do some fantastic Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole with the original fifties arrangements, backed by the orchestra."
