Posted August 3, 2007 23:22:00

Victorian police are searching for three people who threw rocks at cars travelling along the Princes Highway at Laverton in Melbourne's west tonight.

A police helicopter and dog squad unit were called to the area around 8:00pm AEST, after at least nine cars were damaged.

One car had its windscreen shattered.

The rock throwers fled, and police are asking for witnesses to come forward.
