Posted January 5, 2008 17:46:00

Fire fighters have brought a blaze in Perth's southern suburbs under control.

No property was damaged in the fire which is estimated to have burned three hectares of land in Ferndale.

Nearby residents are still being urged to keep windows and doors closed and to avoid using air-conditioning because of smoke and embers in the air.
