Spirit hold off the Lynx

Posted January 5, 2008 23:22:00

Bendigo shrugged off a late charge from Perth to take out their WNBL clash 91-76 in Bendigo on Saturday evening.

Jenna O'Hea top-scored with 19 for the home side, while Samantha Richards led the resistance for the Lynx with 13 points.

Meanwhile Sydney Uni were impressive as they beat the AIS 104-94.

Natalie Porter dropped a game-high 26 points for the Flames and Stephanie Cumming recorded 22 for the visitors.

The Capitals won a close one against the Fire, triumphing 72-69 in their clash in Townsville.

An imposing double-double (20 points, 22 rebounds) from Jennifer Crouse was not enough to lift the home side, while Tracey Beatty was the best for the ACT, bagging 16 points.

Wrapping up the day's play, Adelaide thumped Dandenong 76-59 in Mount Gambier.

Jessica Foley scored a game-high 25 for the Lightning and Michelle Brogan netted 20 for the Rangers.
