Police probe jewellery store ram raid

Posted January 19, 2008 21:00:00

New South Wales police say they are looking for a group of men who they believe may be responsible for a ram raid at jewellery store in Sydney's CBD.

A four-wheel drive crashed through the window of the store in the Queen Victoria Building early this morning.

A group of armed men wearing balaclavas then threatened the staff before fleeing the scene with jewellery in another car.

None of the store's staff were injured.

Police are warning jewellers to be wary of anyone attempting to sell jewellery without the accompanying original certificates of authenticity.
