Spain arrests 14 'linked to extremists'

Posted January 19, 2008 21:38:00

Authorities in Spain have arrested 14 people suspected of links with Islamic extremist groups.

Interior ministry sources say the arrests were carried out by the civil guard police in Barcelona as part of an operation co-ordinated with the intelligence services.

Material seized in the raids is being analysed and further arrests have not been ruled out.
