Balcony jumper refused bail

Posted January 30, 2008 23:07:00

A 23-year-old New South Wales man who jumped off a fourth floor balcony to avoid police has been refused bail.

Police say Corey Victor Rennie threatened a 57-year-old man with a sword at a Surfers Paradise apartment building yesterday afternoon.

When officers arrived he allegedly jumped from the apartment balcony into a swimming pool.

Today he appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on charges of threatening violence, serious obstruction and drug possession.

He will appear in court again in March.
