Bank worker charged with $1.4m fraud

A 45-year-old bank employee has been charged with stealing $1.4 million over eight years from a St George branch in southern Sydney.

Police say the Kogarah branch detected suspicious account transactions during a random audit.

The Redfern woman has been charged with 22 counts of obtaining benefit by deception.

She was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.
