Cartwright wary of 'dangerous' Bulldogs

Gold Coast Titans coach John Cartwright says tonight's clash with the Bulldogs at Skilled Park is a dangerous game for his team.

Cartwright says positions on the premiership table count for little at this time of year, when teams have players injured or on other duties.

He expects the Bulldogs senior players to perform strongly.

"Their fullback's one of the best going around - Patten - he's been missing the last couple of weeks," he said.

"He provides a lot of their spark, a lot of their points.

"Sonny Bill of course, when he's at his best I think he lifts the rest of the 16. He's a guy you can't go out on the field and say you're 'going to stop Sonny Bill' because he's too good.

"You've just got to accept that he's going to do some special things and try and counteract them when they do happen."

Cartwright has welcomed the return of forward leader Luke Bailey from injury.

He says Bailey will lift the Titans.

"It's never a bad time to have Luke back, he's one of those guys that you probably take for granted when he's out there even though we've had some good results with him not being there," he said.

"We're definitely a lot stronger with him in the side."
