West Belconnen centre would be back-up only: ACTEW-AGL

Posted June 14, 2008 14:04:00

ActewAGL has denied it is planning a large data centre for the West Belconnen area.

The company says its main focus is on the planned centre near Tuggeranong and will only need a second site near Parkwood Road if it is needed.

ActewAGL spokeswoman Brook O'Mahoney says if plans for a second data centre are required, it will not be a large one.

"We certainly have identified a site in Belconnen as being a site potentially for a secondary production and a back-up data centre site, but we've made commitments that there'll be no power station built at that site," she said.
