Woman to face murder charge

Posted June 23, 2008 07:50:00

A woman, 31, has been charged with stabbing her defacto husband, 34, to death at Clare, north of Adelaide.

Neighbours say the couple and their children were a quiet, but friendly, family.

It is believed the victim was already dead when police and ambulance crews were called to a house in Blyth Road at Clare, about 9:00pm on Saturday night.

Neighbour David Cheetham has expressed shock.

"I went out to get wood for the fire and it was only then that I realised that things were happening next door," he said.

"You think of these things happening in Adelaide or wherever, but not in Clare."

It is not known if the children have been taken into care.

The woman is expected to face court today.
