Aberdeen gears up for Scottish Highland Games

The Upper Hunter town of Aberdeen will host its ninth annual Scottish Highland Games this weekend, with one of the highest ranked Scottish chiefs in attendance.
Organiser Charles Cook says The Right Honourable Lord Sempill will be at the games as part of his trip to Australia to promote a similar festival in Edinburgh next year.
He says the Aberdeen Games in Australia are a drawcard to both local and international visitors.
"People come to see the event. They come to see the ... bands, they come to see the street parade, they come to see the tartan warriors," he said.
"They've apparently got some new competitors with them this year so that'll be interesting. We've had a very good line-up of stalls this year - at the moment we're juggling space to try and fit a few more in."
