A woman accused of murdering her de facto partner has been given bail provided she does not go to his funeral.

It is alleged Noreen Jessamine Weetra, 31, stabbed her partner to death at their home near Clare in South Australia a fortnight ago.

In Adelaide Magistrates Court, her lawyer Sarah Willis sought that Weetra be released from custody because she needed to care for her seven children.

But prosecutor Jonathon Wells told the court it might not be safe for Weetra to go to the funeral of Ross Graham Calyun, 34, because the man's family was so upset.

The magistrate reluctantly banned Weetra from the funeral but said that would not prevent her from viewing the body privately beforehand.

The case returns to court in September.
