Large crowd turns out to hear Ouse Hospital verdict

Posted July 17, 2008 20:00:00

A large crowd has turned out at the Ouse Hall in Tasmania's Central Highlands to find out what's to become of health services in the region.

An independent consultant is presenting findings into whether some services should be reinstated at the Ouse District Hospital.

The consultant was appointed after an outcry over the State Government's plan to downgrade the hospital and close aged care beds.

The community is hoping the review will recommend a multi-purpose health service for the region, based at Ouse.
