Britain is raising the age for bringing in a spouse from abroad in an attempt to cut down on forced marriages.

Both partners will now have to be at least 21, not 18 years old.

The Home Office says nearly 30 per cent of the 215 alleged forced marriages investigated by authorities last year involved people aged between 18 and 21.
