Rex had same airport charges for 6 yrs: Sydney Airport

Posted July 25, 2008 10:26:00

The chief executive of Sydney Airport, Russell Balding, says Regional Express Airlines has experienced a six-year long moratorium on its airport charges.

Earlier this week, Rex's deputy chairman, John Sharp, called for a stop to rate increases this financial year to ease the financial burden on airlines.

Mr Balding says the aeronautical fees paid by Rex to the Airport have not increased since 2002.

He says Rex needs to sensibly manage its business rather than attack providers.
