A large historic mirror that was once on display at the Castlemaine Town Hall will be restored to its former glory.

The mirror is more than 2 metres tall and 1.8 metres wide and was made in the 1880s.

But the mirror has been shifted around to different buildings over the years and is now in a poor condition.

The mirror will again go on display at the Castlemaine Town Hall and will be unveiled for the 2009 Debutante Ball.
