Australia's competition and consumer watchdog has outlined some concerns about a merger of three dairy companies.

Parmalat and Murray Goulburn want to acquire Dairy Farmers.

A statement of issues was released by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) on Thursday.

It includes concern about competition in the supply of flavoured milk in Queensland, the supply of fresh milk in south-east Queensland and the National supply of UHT milk.

The ACCC is seeking public submissions until August 7 and will make a final decision on the acquisition at the end of August.
