Ergon board to discuss industrial campaign

Posted July 25, 2008 15:16:00

The chairman of Ergon Energy says he is hoping an industrial campaign will be resolved before the consumers feel any impact.

The Electrical Trades Union has escalated its campaign this week in a long-running dispute over pay and conditions.

Chairman Keith Hilless says the dispute is starting to effect parts of the company's operations.

"It's having an impact on our operations in terms of our ability to continue our major projects and get them completed on time," he said.

"To date, it's not had any impact on our customers because of the arrangements that loss of supply will still be seen to, but certainly it is impacting.

"I would certainly be hopeful that there'll be a resolution in the shorter rather than longer term."
