Wind farm may bring a multitude of problems for land owners

A number of land owners south of Ballarat are worried they may have a second set of powerlines running across their land to reach a wind farm being built near Elaine.
West Wind Energy is developing the 64-turbine farm at Mount Mercer.
Paul Rogers, from Buninyong, says he has received a letter saying part of his land may be acquired for powerlines to connect the wind farm to the electricity grid.
He says there is already one set of powerlines running across his land and duplicating it will cause some problems.
"There are a number of issues, you have the value of your property being devalued, the visual impact, you also have the impact to negotiate you paddocks for cropping and what have you, you've got poles that you have to negotiate your way round," he said.
