Heavy fog hits south-east SA

Posted July 28, 2008 14:24:00

Police are urging motorists to take care when navigating the roads today as thick fog blankets much of south-east South Australia.

They are reminding drivers to keep their lights on and to defrost icy windscreens before driving.

Across the Limestone Coast, temperatures dropped below zero overnight and the weather bureau's duty forecaster, Belinda Gibson, says Naracoorte recorded the lowest temperature in the state - minus 2.4 degrees early this morning.

The Mount Gambier Airport has been affected by the cold temperature, with some delays in outbound flights this morning due to aircraft de-icing.
