Changes to Hobart Art Prize on the way

The prize money for next year's Hobart City Art Prize will be doubled to keep the event relevant after two decades.
The winners of the 20th art prize were announced last night, selected from a field comprised entirely of past winners.
Martin Walch won the two-dimensional fine art category, while Mari Funaki took out the three-dimensional craft and design category.
Hobart's Lord Mayor, Rob Valentine, says the prizes of $7,500 in each category will be increased.
"The city is certainly pleased also to announced that next year we will be offering 15 thousand dollars in each of two categories," Alderman Valentine said.
"So basically doubling the prize," he said.
