A South Australian artist charged with 15 child sex offences has been told his case could be moved to a higher jurisdiction.

Clifford John Frith has pleaded not guilty in the District Court in Adelaide to six counts of indecent assault, five of inducing a child to expose her body and four of gross indecency.

The court has heard there are three alleged victims and the prosecution wants the cases heard separately in the Supreme Court.

Frith's lawyer Craig Caldicott said he will oppose the application.

There will be a further hearing in September.
