Third Sea Patrol series to be shot in Qld

Posted August 5, 2008 13:22:00

The Nine Network is to produce a third series of television drama Sea Patrol in Queensland.

Sea Patrol - Red Gold will be filmed at Mission Beach in far north Queensland, and at the Warner Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast from September.

Queensland Art Minister Rod Welford says the State Government is providing production, development and investment funding for the series through the Pacific Film and Television Commission (PFTC).

"The third series has a $17 million budget and looks set to create around 400 jobs," Mr Welford said in a statement.

Sea Patrol, starring Logie award-winning actress Lisa McCune, is inspired by the Royal Australian Navy patrol boat service.
