A Sydney court has heard a 40-year-old woman downloaded pornographic images of children because she was role-playing with men she met on the internet.
Suzanne McDonald from Surry Hills in inner-Sydney pleaded guilty to charges that include possessing and disseminating child pornography and supplying prohibited drugs after she was arrested in 2007.
Police say they found more than 70 pornographic movies and images involving children, with some in the worst category.
The 40-year-old told a District Court sentencing hearing she downloaded the material after her marriage ended and she used an internet dating service.
She said she became involved in role-playing with men she contacted on the internet - pornography was sent to her and she played the role of children depicted in the images.
Suzanne McDonald said at the time she was using the drugs ice, ecstasy and LSD.
