Hospital admissions back to normal

Posted August 8, 2008 08:42:00

Figures released by Queensland Health show admissions to the Mt Isa Hospital have returned to normal after a busy post-Christmas period.

The June Quarterly Public Hospitals Performance Report shows just under 9,000 people were treated as in-patients or emergencies at the facility.

That is down 6 per cent on the March quarter and 6.1 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The hospital also provided care for almost 7,000 outpatients, an increase of just over 10 per cent on the March quarter, which it says is because of the availability of a new visiting gastroenterologist.
