Adelaide couple refused appeal

Posted August 8, 2008 17:00:00

The High Court has knocked back an Adelaide couple's bid to overturn an order to pay $100,000 to the Commonwealth Bank.

Doug and Irini Jovanovic argued that when they defaulted on their mortgage for a Hindley Street hotel in 1997, the bank sold the hotel well below market value.

Earlier this year the Supreme Court dismissed their argument that they should not have to pay the shortfall.

The High Court today rejected a request to appeal against the decision.
