Police raid Coffin Cheaters headquarters in Geraldton

Posted August 8, 2008 17:37:00

The Gang Response Squad has conducted multiple raids in Geraldton in a crack-down on the Coffin Cheaters bikie gang.

So far the club's headquarters and 2 houses have been searched, and police say it has resulted in the seizure of stolen goods and drugs.

Mid West Gascoyne Inspector Kim Travers says the operation is part of a broader response to a rise in crime in the region, and is based on information gained from last month's 'Dob-in-a-Dealer' Day.

She says the crack-down will continue over the weekend.

"I can say this, that because of the increased resources there will be a lot of police presence in the town tonight, and we'll be targeting vehicles of interest, people of interest and places of interest in the townsite tonight, " she said.
