Collingwood coach Mick Malthouse says he is looking forward to putting the week behind him after the club was forced to suspend star players Heath Shaw and Alan Didak.

Shaw and Didak were banned from playing for the rest of the season after lying about their involvement in a drink driving incident last weekend.

Malthouse says while it has been a tough week at the club it is time to move on ahead of tomorrow's vital match against St Kilda.

"We move forward, we open up the door for [new] young players, it is fantastic," he said.

"We do not want to lose sight of what we are here for, to play football, the player group got themselves focussed on that very early in the week and they have continued to do that up until training today."
