A second family has launched legal action over heightened lead levels in the north-western Queensland city of Mount Isa.

Lawyer Damien Scattini says three-year-old Sydney Body had the highest blood lead levels of any of the 400 children tested in the city.

Mr Scattini says he expects to file papers in the Supreme Court next week seeking unspecified damages from mining company Xstrata, the Queensland Government and the Mount Isa City Council.

"He's got developmental delays, he's very, very thin, he's got got behavioural issues - that's all the to be expected as classic features of lead poisoning," he said.
