Festival to salute sausage

Posted August 14, 2008 10:22:00

Griffith residents will salute salami at a festival this weekend.

The annual Festa Delle Salsicce, or Festival of the Sausage event, will be held at Griffith Pioneer Park Museum.

Linda Tilman from Riverina Regional Tourism says this year's event is already booked out, but those who want to take part next year should book early.

"The whole event celebrates the end of the salami-making season which as you could imagine is a big event in Griffith and participants to get to enjoy traditional home-made Italian cuisine, local wine, a lot of local entertainment and of course a lot of salami," she said.

"It's really unique and a great way to experience Italian culture in Griffith."
