Posted August 15, 2008 08:38:00

A 56-year-old Sunshine Coast man has pleaded not guilty in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court to a charge of conspiracy to defraud the Commonwealth.

Brian Francis Fox of Cooroy was arrested soon after he arrived on a flight from Vanuatu on Monday, over his alleged involvement in a multi-million dollar offshore tax avoidance scheme.

Fox was granted bail with strict reporting conditions and is due to appear with two other men in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 10.
