A centre offering advice to local manufacturers and small businesses has opened at Mawson Lakes in Adelaide.

It is part of the federal Enterprise Connect initiative, aimed at boosting jobs and helping companies find export markets.

Federal Innovation Minister Kim Carr says the Mawson Lakes Manufacturing Centre is the first of a series which will offer important advice to companies.

"Ensuring that they know what's going on. They can get advice about how they can improve their business, how they can improve their management arrangements, their supply systems and their whole procedures in their operation," he said.
