Hunter escapes drought's grip

Posted August 18, 2008 11:45:00

The Hunter Valley remains one of the few New South Wales regions out of drought.

New figures show the drought has worsened slightly across the state, with 66.2 per cent of the state now drought declared.

The Gloucester Rural Lands Protection Board area and most of the Hunter Rural Lands Protection Board (RLPB) remain satisfactory, while Maitland and part of the Mudgee-Merriwa RLPB are listed as marginal.
