Surf lifesaving club open to community groups

Posted August 19, 2008 13:11:00

Community groups will have the opportunity to make use of a new million-dollar surf lifesaving facility on the New South Wales far south coast.

The Pambula Surf Lifesaving Club hopes to occupy its newly constructed headquarters by the end of October, with the official opening planned for November.

The clubhouse was built using community funds and a combination of federal and state sporting grants.

President Donald Hay says the club needs the public's assistance to make the project viable.

"It is going to allow us specifically to find out and plan a calendar and schedule community use of the building around our activities," he said.

"It will also allow to ... budget for an income to make sure the premises are kept up to scratch and can move forward into the future."
