Court to rule on Baldock building development

Posted August 20, 2008 07:33:00

A land and environment court commissioner is expected to hand down her decision on the fate of a contentious development in Orange later this week.

The court is considering an appeal against the Orange council's decision to reject plans to redevelop an office block.

The developers of the Baldock Stacey and Niven building have now submitted amended designs to the court.

A council spokesman says the new plans reduce the height of the building from four to three storeys and address concerns raised by the council and community.

Commissioner Tuor has wrapped up a two-day hearing in Orange and indicated she will hand down her decision on Friday.
