Court jails Albury man over cabbie attempted robbery

Posted August 20, 2008 13:05:00

A 19-year-old Albury man has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years jail after he attempted to rob a taxi driver at knife-point in February.

Jesse Trigg faced the Albury District Court yesterday charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon.

On the night of the incident, Trigg held out a knife and told a taxi driver to give him money.

The taxi driver drove off and reported the incident to police.

Trigg will be eligible for parole in May next year.
