Streaker cops fine, unwanted female attention

The Darwin Magistrates Court has been told unwanted female attention is just one of the setbacks of streaking at a national sporting event.

For 30-year-old Christopher John Pedley, too much alcohol and a bit of prompting from his mates led to a nude run across Marrara Oval during the AFL match between the Western Bulldogs and Port Adelaide in Darwin in June.

It was a successful dash for Pedley who returned to the crowd to be reunited with his clothes, girlfriend and mates - that was until security tracked him down.

In court today, Pedley pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour.

But through his lawyer, Pedley said the streak has brought unwanted attention.

He's now the subject of advances from women, has to endure the nickname of "Pedley the Streaker" and his friends bought him a hat with the word "Streaker" written on it.

He was fined $600 for his antics and still faces a ban from attending Marrara Oval.
