Twelve types of garlic bread have been recalled by Food Standards Australia New Zealand because they turn blue when cooked.

The frozen products were recalled as a precautionary measure after a small number showed discolouration of the garlic when heated.

The brands are AGB, Mamma Mia, Black and Gold, Homebrand, Foodland and the Coles label.

Food Standards says the bread is safe to eat but has been recalled for aesthetic reasons.
