Sex workers seek health help

Posted August 21, 2008 14:49:00

The body representing Australian sex workers is calling on the State Government to provide better health information services for its members.

The Scarlett Alliance says Tasmania is the only state without a dedicated health information service for sex workers.

The Alliance's Janelle Fawkes says such services also provide information to the public, helping to dispel myths surrounding the industry.

Ms Fawkes will meet government representatives this afternoon to discuss the possibility of a state-funded information service in Tasmania.

Industry delegates from around Australia have arrived in Hobart for a conference tomorrow.
