Final details to be worked out for cross-border patrols

Posted August 22, 2008 13:45:00

Arrangements for cross-border police patrols along the Murray River will be finalised in October.

Police and unions met this week and have resolved some of the issues that caused joint patrols to be delayed.

Superintendent Mark Cooper from Albury police says details around resourcing and sharing information have been worked out.

He says there are still some things that need to be looked at before the final meeting in October.

"Those tasks are to go away to different people and we're talking about Crown solicitors, we're talking about workers' compensation acts and legislation so we can make sure that we're right," he said.

"It's very unique, we're talking about two different states, but we're trying to do the same job."
