Centrelink has moved to reassure pensioners on the New South Wales mid-north coast who have been hit by the collapse of the LKM Capital investment firm.

Centrelink says it is looking into the matter closely, and will remain in contact with the company's receiver to track developments.

It also says pensioners who are suffering severe financial hardship because of the collapse may be able to apply for help under the Asset Hardship Provisions.
